Real Madrid 4-1 Al Ain: No rivals for Los Blancos at Club World Cup
There was no surprise in Abu Dhabi. Real Madrid satisfied their job as enormous top picks and won the Club World Cup for the third consecutive year.
It was what was normal against the humble Al Ain, although they did have some good spells during the match.
Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric opened the scoring in the primary half before Marcos Llorente – who has come into his own under Santiago Solari — doubled Madrid’s advantage.
Captain Sergio Ramos then headed in from a corner as Los Blancos eased towards the trophy.
Shiotani pulled one back for Al Ain, dneying Thibaut Courtois a perfect sheet, but there was to be a fourth Madrid goal, an own goal which arrived after good work from Vinicius Jr.
