Morata ends Chelsea hell with £58m permanent transfer to AT Madrid
ALVARO MORATA has at last finished his Chelsea damnation after AT Madrid concurred a £58million changeless exchange for the striker.
The Spaniard remains on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano for the 2019-20 campaign, after which he will sign an enduring contract on July 1, 2020.
Frank Lampard’s side had threatened the La Liga giants with triggering the 26-year-old’s review proviso except if they made his arrival to the Spanish capital lasting.
Morata had already begun pre-season training with Diego Simeone’s men after transparently uncovering his aspiration to stay at Los Rojiblancos.
After the news was announced by the club, he tweeted: « Cheerful. It’s authentic at this point.
« Now I’ll have time to return with work and goals for all the effort of the club and the affection of the fans. Thank you!!! »
The transfer finally ends his torrid two-year spell in west London following his at that point club-record £60m move from Real Madrid for in 2017.
Los Colchoneros have already spent £113m to sign Joao Felix from Benfica, making the 19-year-old the fifth most costly player ever.
