Maurizio Sarri tells Gary Cahill to leave Chelsea with January
Maurizio Sarri has reportedly told Gary Cahill he can leave Chelsea in January in the midst of enthusiasm from Italy.
The England global, 32, has played just one Premier League game under the new Blues boss when he came off the bench against West Ham.
What’s more, Calciomercato are reporting that AC Milan are thinking about a swoop when the transfer window opens.
The milan are without three senior focus backs because of damage and are in urgent need of new legs.
A loan move in the New Year appears the most likely option, with Milan’s senior players accepted to support a move for Cahill’s partner Andreas Christensen.
The Dane, 22, is in a similar position to his older colleague under Sarri however has the benefit of youth.
Aston Villa is another option for Cahill, giving the veteran defender a chance to link up with John Terry – and come back to the club where he began his profession.
Further rumours suggest that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is thinking about taking his previous star to Manchester United to help shore up the Old Trafford club’s leaky defence.
