Man Utd and City on red alert as Barcelona consider selling Samuel Umtiti
MAN UNITED and Man City are on red alert as F.C Barcelona consider selling Samuel Umtiti, according to reports.
Umtiti has only just returned to full fitness after a lengthy spell out due to a knee injury – although he was included in Didier Deschamps’ latest French squad in front of partner Clement Lenglet and Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte.
But according to Calciomercato, Barca may let the star go despite paying Lyon £20.4million for him under three years prior.
That is because they are considering a move for Ajax wonder Matthijs de Ligt.
The 19-year-old has captained his club this season and was one of the standout performers as they dumped Real Madrid F.C out of the Champions League.
And after already securing Frenkie de Jong’s services from next season, they will no uncertainty be quick to acquire his colleague.
But with Gerard Pique, Lenglet, Jeison Murillo and Jean-Clair Todibo at the club – just as Thomas Vermaelen – Umtiti might be the man yielded.
One club’s loss would be another’s gain and there would be no shortage of sides intrigued by the World Cup victor.
Samuel Umtiti is comprehended to « like » both Manchester clubs and would be « intrigued » in a move.
