Chelsea hint Maurizio Sarri will not be sacked this week
SARRI looks set to survive until at least Thursday after Chelsea F.C revealed he will be at their UEFA Europa League
press conference on Wednesday
MAURIZIO Sarri has admitted his job is under threat after three defeats in four games – including yesterday’s 6-0 thrashing by Man City.
After the dismal run, that has seen Blues lose three consecutive away matches, chances have been sliced on Sarri turning into the most recent untimely Stamford Bridge sacking.
Ex-Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and former Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc have emerged as odds-on favourites to replace Sarri if he is fired.
However, a press release including Sarri’s name ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League round of 32 tie against Malmo proposes the Italian won’t yet leave London.
Chelsea F.C travel to Sweden ahead of Thursday’s first leg against Malmö FF and the Blues manager will face the press one day before the game.
Next week the FA Cup holders host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the fifth round.
They sit sixth in the table, with yesterday’s pounding seeing them dip under Arsenal on goal distinction.
