Chelsea and Man Utd Chelsea join race for £60m for Alessio Romagnoli
MAN Utd and Chelsea are set to go head-to-head in the battle for AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli, as indicated by reports.
But it is understood they also face competition from Italian giants Juventus F.C for the focal protector.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Chelsea have made attempts to sign the Italian star before.
And with Maurizio Sarri’s side facing a two-window transfer ban, potentially postponed until next year, they may attempt their fortunes this late spring for the protector who is esteemed by Milan managers at around £60m.
But while the Blues continue to monitor his situation, rivals Man United are also thought to be keen on Romagnoli, 24, who is happy with happening from the back and has been contrasted and Alessandro Nesta.
Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly has been a long-term target from Serie A but could cost the club as much as £90million.
Former Roma defender Romagnoli – who signed a new deal at AC last summer keeping him at the club until 2022 – is unlikely not going to cost that much however could be enticed by a move to Juventus.
