Arsenal transfer news : arsenal forced to turn to Yannick Carrasco
Arsenal are accepted to lead the race to catch Yannick Carrasco from Dalian Yifang as Unai Emery hopes to sign a winger.
The Gunners boss has made no secret of his desire to bring in new recruits this month, and could look to the ex-Atletico Madrid forward to add pace and width to his squad.
Carrasco swapped Spain for China last February, but could be heading back to Europe after not exactly a year in the Far East.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the North Londoners are in pole position to land him having made initial contacty, yet confront stern challenge from AC Milan.
But they claim that the Italians can’t afford his £170,000-a-week contract, while the player himself has ‘given his approval’ to a move to the Emirates.
While Sky Sports news reporter Dharmesh Sheth also spoke of Arsenal’s enthusiasm for the 25-year-old.
He said: « Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco could be a fit for Emery.
“Sky in Italy are reporting Arsenal are interested.
« Carrasco is presently at Chinese club Dalian Yifang having played for Monaco and Atletico Madrid.”
Carrasco has chipped in with seven goals and nine assists in 26 games since joining Dalian Yifang, while he got multiple times in 123 counterparts for Atletico between 2015-2018.
