Arsenal and Man Utd set to be squeezed for extra £12m for Manolas
AS ROMA have begun talks with Kostas Manolas’ to ensure they can squeeze an extra £12million out of Man United and Arsenal F.C.
The Greek global defender, 27, has risen as one of the best focuses for the Red Devils while pulling in enthusiasm from somewhere else.
Manolas has a £31.5m release clause currently in his deal with the Serie A mammoths.
But Corriere dello Sport say discussions are underway between the club and the star’s representatives to either remove it totally or if nothing else increment it to around £43.7m.
The ex-Olympiacos and AEK Athens is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until June 2022.
But that has not stopped a host of European heavyweights from plotting a late spring swoop.
United are well-known to be in the market for defensive recruits, and the Roma man is high up on their needed rundown.
Prem rivals Arsenal are also keen, but they could be priced out of a move, particularly if Giallorossi prevail with regards to increasing the discharge expense.
